BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A new edition of the Vermont Almanac is available featuring stories by and about Vermonters.
The almanac features the work of upwards of 60 Vermonters telling stories about their art, crafts, farming, and interactions with the land. From flood recovery to new segments in the state’s agricultural economy, co-editor Patrick White says the main message this year is hope.
“There’s people out there that are doing innovative things. They’re finding ways to take on the challenges that weather in the economy might throw at us. And they’re keeping rural traditions alive in Vermont. And so I think that that’s the message I take away, is that there’s a hopefulness for the future.,” White said.
There’s a special free event coming up Saturday at the North Branch Nature Center in Montpelier to celebrate the new volume. Visitors can meet the almanac’s contributors, hear readings, and enjoy live music.
