Icy road conditions snarl Vermont roadways

BERLIN, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State Police are urging caution on the roads as icy conditions are making for dangerous driving.

The National Weather Service has issued Winter Weather Advisories for much of the region for freezing rain through about 1 p.m.

WCAX News has received reports of multiple car crashes and slide-offs near Exit 7 on Interstate 89. Police recommend avoiding the area at this time.

Back roads have also become ice skating rinks in parts of Central Vermont.

State police accidents have also been reported along Interstate 91 in southern Vermont.

Vermont 511 has the latest closures around the region.
