ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont mental health agencies are getting a boost thanks to a Franklin County nonprofit.
Afterglow is an annual St. Albans music festival that also shines a light on suicide awareness.
The Afterglow Foundation is now splitting up $130,000 and donating to local area mental health and suicide prevention and related organizations.
It all started in honor of AJ Holzscheiter, who died by suicide in 2018. “In our hearts, we know that we are saving lives. We do it in honor of our A.J. It helps keep his spirit alive,” said John Holzscheiter, A.J.’s dad.
The organization plans to have its concert fundraiser again next year.
