New class aims to help veterans start, grow businesses

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A new class can help veteran-owned small businesses grow or launch.

The Boots to Business program is a part of National Veterans Small Business Week.

It offers help to military members or families interested in starting a business. The training includes developing a business plan and finding access to capital resources.

Officials say veterans are already set up for success in business.

“They are mission-driven. They understand perseverance, planning, strategic thinking. They’re very resilient, and most importantly, they’re community-focused, so they’re already trained to build incredible businesses,” said Holly Aker of the Small Business Administration.

There are also options for continued business training.
