BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A South Burlington man is facing life behind bars on federal child sex charges.
Authorities say Jason McGrath persuaded minors online into sending him pornographic material from March of 2023 to September of this year. He’s also accused of requesting others to abuse young girls and send him the videos. They say he paid money through an online system to a country in Southeast Asia known as a location where child sex trafficking networks operate.
McGrath was detained on Monday by U.S. Customs and Border Protection while reentering the country from Canada.
He is expected in court on Friday.
