PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – The tax rate for homeowners in Plattsburgh could go down next year, according to the mayor’s 2025 proposed budget
The proposed rate, the lowest since 2004, comes amid a major reduction in city health care expenses and increased revenue.
Mayor Chris Rosenquest says the city is in good financial standing and set up for stability in the future. “It’s one of the best budgets I have seen. Certainly one of the best budgets I have delivered in terms of tax rate, managing expenses, managing operations, and maintaining the service levels that the city has.
The spending plan still needs to get final approval.
The city is hosting a public comment session on the mayor’s proposed 2025 budget on Wednesday at 5 at the Common Council chambers in City Hall
