BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (WCAX) – Brattleboro officials are celebrating floodplain restoration efforts.
City leaders say Brattleboro has flooded before, most recently during Tropical Storm Irene in 2011.
The project removed a berm along Wheston Brook, created two floodplain terraces, and planted trees along the river.
The Vermont River Conservancy will be joined at noon on Wednesday by local and state leaders to celebrate completing the flood resilience project.
