BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – It’s hunting season, but venison and turkey may be off the table.
That’s thanks to a chemical that frequents the headlines in Vermont – PFAS.
Now, Maine wildlife officals say deer and turkey in some communities contain the harmful chemical.
There’s a ‘Do not eat wildlife – consumption advisory’ in place in parts of central Maine.
PFAs have been linked to human health problems like cancer and low birth weight.
A similar advisory is in place for deer liver in New Hampshire.
