Vt. search and rescue crew helping in North Carolina

ASHEVILLE, N.C., Vt. (WCAX) – Members of the Vermont Urban Search and Rescue team are still in North Carolina, helping with swift-water rescues after Hurricane Helene flooded Asheville.

Team Coordinator Mike Cannon says as of now, there’s no cell service and people are still missing in Garren Creek.

He says the Vermont team could be assigned to another area but they will not be sent to Florida.
