STOWE, Vt. (WCAX) – The Notch Road is back open after a tour bus got stuck Thursday afternoon.
VTrans this spring installed traffic devices earlier this year to deter large trucks and buses from driving on the narrow road between Stowe and Cambridge. There is also abundant signage to warn drivers, as well as fines of up to $1,000 for a first offense.
From 2020 to 2023, about five trucks a year got stuck. Since the new devices were installed, only two vehicles have been stuck.
