Schumer talks Medicare prescription savings during Plattsburgh stop

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – New York Senator Chuck Schumer made a stop in Plattsburgh Thursday to tout coming changes to prescription drug prices for seniors.

During a vist to the Condo Pharmacy, Schumer says that the roughly 46,000 seniors enrolled in Medicare in the North Country will now be able to afford cheaper medications for conditions including diabetes and heart disease due to the Inflation Reduction Act.

“People are so happy when they go, when they hear they can actually afford these miracle drugs. They are miracle drugs — no one wants to knock how good they are — It is just the cost,” he said.

Schumer also highlighted the $35 dollar cap on insulin for seniors enrolled in Medicare.
