Burlington man arrested for attempted murder after Greene Street incident

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington police are now calling the suspicious incident that happened on Greene Street Thursday morning attempted murder.

BPD says they received calls this morning reporting that a woman had been stabbed, her throat slit, and was possibly dead in the Greene Street home.

When officers arrived, they found 30-year-old Kevin Calero-Alvarez, hysterically crying and shouting, including the word “sorry”.

When officers entered the home, they found a woman with several stab wounds to her torso, arms, and neck. She was transferred to UVM Medical Center and is in serious condition.

They also say there was another woman who was quote, “in fear for her life” after being assaulted by Calero Alvarez with a knife but was not injured.

Calero-Alverez was charged with second-degree attempted murder and first-degree aggravated domestic assault.
