CHICAGO (WCAX) – Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders was among the featured speakers Tuesday night at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago.
Sanders spoke about problems the country faces and called former President Donald Trump’s agenda radical.
“At a time of massive income and wealth inequality, giving more tax breaks to billionaires is radical, putting forth budgets to cut Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid is radical, letting polluters destroy our planet is radical. And my friends, we won’t let that happen. On November 5th, let us select Kamala Harris as our president and let us go forward to create the nation we know we can become. Thank you all very much,” said Sanders, I-Vermont.
Vermont’s delegates officially cast their votes for Harris during the roll call at the convention on Tuesday night.
Day 3 of the convention is expected to focus on reproductive freedom and other rights. Speakers will include vice presidential nominee Tim Walz and former President Bill Clinton.
