BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – On Tuesday, Burlington’s newest road will be open to the public.
After decades in the works, the first stretch of the Champlain Parkway will be opened Tuesday morning.
The stretch of road from home to lakeside avenues is the first segment of the larger Champlain Parkway project.
When finished, the parkway is intended to funnel traffic from Interstate 189 to downtown through the South End.
Tuesday morning just before 10, city, state, and federal leaders will meet at the intersection of Flynn Avenue and the Champlain Parkway to celebrate the opening.
