BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermonters opposing the proposal to build a women’s prison in Essex are picking up picket signs.
The protest on Monday comes on the heels of a meeting last week, outlining the state’s plan to put a new women’s prison in the town.
Now protestors are coming together to demand that Freeman French Freeman drops the design contract for the project.
Protesters will meet on Maple Street in Burlington at 11 a.m. Monday.
