Viewer photos and videos from July 2024 flooding

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Our viewers have been sending in what they’re seeing as we work to get a full picture of the impacts of this week’s storm.

Spear Street in Charlotte was nailed by floodwaters, washing away the road and leaving the guardrail floating above.

In Fayston, Nancy shows us how huge portions of the streets have washed away.

Zach showed us the damage to Route 112 in Norton, which crumbled after the storm blew through.

On Dugway Road in Jonesville, Michael captured a sight you can find throughout the state, see how the water just rushed through tearing up the road and exposing the pipes underneath.

Moriah showed us a home in Wheelock was left in shambles, teetering on the edge, and almost getting completely swept away by the waters.

The extent of the damage and flooding can be even better seen from the sky. Tim sent in drone images of the area of Route 122 in Lyndon. The land there was inundated by water, making it look more like a swamp.

Harmony sent us a video of the area of Hanksville and Starksboro that shows how the floods snapped trees before receding, leaving remnants on the grass.

Pamela took this photo of another destroyed and crumbling road on Route 302 West in Groton, and Gary sent us an image of a flooded north Williston farm.

The devastation is undeniable and almost unbelievable.

This round of storms came a year to the day after last year’s catastrophic floods, but some Vermonters spent the day making the most of a bad situation. Three-year-old Chase was fishing in the flood waters.

Falicia captured a moment of lightheartedness among the damage as well.
