Slate Valley Unified School District approves school budget after 5th vote

FAIR HAVEN, Vt. (WCAX) – After its fifth budget vote, the Slate Valley Unified School District has passed its budget.

The budget passed 930 to 794.

The board cut over $312,000 from their over $30 million budget heading into this vote, after their fourth vote failed because community members said the board didn’t slash enough.

Barre Unified Union, Alburgh, and Mississquoi Valley school districts all passed their spending plans on their third votes.

122 school districts or supervisory unions have passed their budgets. Enosburgh-Richford UUSD still has to pass theirs. The vote is scheduled for June 25th.
