Montpelier opening cooling centers due to expected heat

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – The city of Montpelier is opening public cooling centers to prepare for the heat.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory from our area from noon on Tuesday to 8 p.m. Thursday. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s. Click here for the latest forecast from the WCAX Weather Team.

The Council Chambers in Montpelier City Hall will be opened as a cooling center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Other cooling centers include the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, the Montpelier Transit Center, the Montpelier Senior Activity Center, the Access Hub-Sunrise and the lobby of the Montpelier Police Station.
