ESSEX JUNCTION, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont Cannabis Convention returned to the Champlain Valley Expo in Essex Junction on Friday.
This is its sixth year. Attendees can expect 15 speaker sessions with 40+ expert cannabis speakers.
Vermont legalized marijuana in 2018 for those 21 and older. The Legislature voted to create a regulated market to open in 2022.
Friday, more than 85 exhibitors discussed the industry from growing to distribution to brand development.
“It’s really not an evolution of the plant. It’s an evolution of the regulations. Right, so in 2018 all cbd things are really wide open. You know, two years ago, we had legalization, but we didn’t have sales so there was kind of an in between, and now we’re sort of that next level where we have dispensaries we have regulations,” said Eli Harrington, the president and manager of the Vermont Cannabis Convention.
If you missed the convention on Friday, it runs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
