MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – State regulators are recalling all products from a Northeast Kingdom cannabis cultivator that allegedly sold contaminated marijuana– again.

State regulators investigated Derby-based Holland Cannabis last year for selling pot tainted with the prohibited pesticide Eagle 20 after a Vermonter reported getting sick.

Now, a routine check by state regulators two weeks ago and a subsequent lab test found they are still spraying their plants. So the state issued a recall to six different stores.

Regulators say the pesticide, which is used on apples and grapes, is not safe to smoke.

“We have done a lot of this random sampling and we have seen no Eagle 20. People learned a lesson the first time. But it seems like this specific cultivator hasn’t learned that lesson,” said James Pepper, the chair of the Vermont Cannabis Control Board.

Holland Cannabis was fined $20,000. They have the option to appeal the decision. We reached out to them but had not yet heard back when this story was published.
