Wildlife Watch: Red-tailed hawks on the wing

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Driving around the region, you have likely seen red-tailed hawks perched on a tree or telephone pole or even patrolling the skies.

Red-tailed hawks are one of the most common raptors in North America, successful in environments as different as the boreal forests to the Great Plains to tropical jungles.

Ike Bendavid joined Jim Armbruster with the Vermont Institute of Natural Science to learn more about these birds of prey.
