BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Burlington Police say a resident at Decker Towers faces charges after a pepper spray incident.
Police say Brandon Luther, 32, was attempting to clear transients out of the stairwell at the housing project Wednesday afternoon and used pepper spray when they refused to leave. Police say it turns out one of the people he sprayed was a Burlington Housing Authority employee who was trying to clean the stairwell.
The incident comes as residents continue to complain that the subsidized housing has become a magnet for drug dealers and the homeless.
Luther was arrested on simple assault charges.
