BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – State officials say in 6 years, one in three Vermonters will be over the age of 60. Now, they’re outlining how to address the needs of older Vermonters – the state’s fastest-growing demographic.

The Age Strong Vermont 10-year action plan is a road map made to address the concerns and needs of people aging in the state. It was partially compiled through public comment.

The plan touches on concerns like affordable and accessible housing and health systems to care for older adults, including dementia treatment. The roadmap also highlights continuing education for adults.

Now, the Age Strong Vermont committee will meet with state leaders to outline how to best implement the roadmap.
