MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (WCAX) – A group of lawyers in Addison County is calling for State’s Attorney Eva Vekos to step down amidst her DUI scandal and email dustup with local law enforcement.
In a document obtained by WCAX, members of the Addison County Bar Association say Vekos can no longer do her job. They say she damaged her relationship with Addison County law enforcement and residents after internal emails show she mocked police officers’ intelligence and said she didn’t feel safe around law enforcement following a DUI charge.
Vekos is currently on medical leave.
