CLAREMONT, N.H. (WCAX) – A Claremont man faces assault charges after police say he fired a gun in the direction of another driver following a road rage incident Tuesday afternoon.
It happened around 1 p.m. at the Cumberland Farms. Claremont Police say a 51-year-old male got into a fight with Jeremiah Schofield, 20, over a driving-related grievance. That’s when police say Schofield pulled out a gun and fired a single round in the direction of the man. No one was injured.
Police arrested Schofield on charges of attempting to commit first-degree assault and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon.
Police say nearby schools were also temporarily put in a shelter-in-place status.
