NEWPORT, N.H. (WCAX) – Police say the investigation into an untimely death in New Hampshire led to a drug arrest.

Investigators say Maryanne Baldauff, 33, of Newport, New Hampshire, was found dead on Tuesday at 62 Sunapee Street in Newport.

The medical examiner will determine Baldauff’s cause of death, but police say they do not believe there is any danger to the public.

The investigation into Baldauff’s death led officers to search a home on Prospect Street in Claremont, where they say they seized multiple suspected drugs, including methamphetamine, fentanyl and crack, along with other evidence of drug trafficking.

Lisa Giannatti, 35, of Claremont, was arrested and faces drug trafficking charges that are enhanced because the offenses allegedly took place in a school zone and because she has a previous drug conviction.

Police say the case is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Newport Police Det. Sgt. Alexander Marvin at 603-863-3232 or amarvin@newportnh.gov, or Claremont Police Det. Sgt. Trevor Dickerman at 603-542-7010 or tdickerman@claremontnh.com.
